A Birthday Card for my nephew

I'm not great at cards. I'm intimidated by them. I think its because there are no pictures to give me a start.

Blue and Orange

Awe! One of my favorites to this day. I love the pictures and colors all go together well. I love the ribbon. That title is a little iffy but look at the baby!

The Worst of the Worst

Okay maybe they are not that bad but I don't love them at all. You should love your layouts. This is probably around the time I was desperate to scrapbook but had a lack of inspiration. I also felt I had to scrap every picture. I loved every picture and wanted to scrapbook all of them. I keep them in the album because of the journaling.

This is bad!

Okay now this is bad. Maybe the overall design is not bad but check out the sticker sneeze on this one. I was just getting to the point that I had to use this stuff if I wanted to by more. Also I had read that if you have picture out of focus that you want to use, you should cover it with vellum. So I bought vellum tape and you can clearly see that it is completely visible. I sold that vellum tape a secondhand scrap sale!

Future Farmer

We are a farming family so my husband bought him a toy tractor immediately. The boy can not even crawl yet but he has a tractor bigger than himself! LOL I like this layout other than the title. You cannot read it very well.

Ground-breaking

This layout of my son, mother-in-law and oldest niece was kinda ground-breaking for me. I think this layout is a good example of balance between cardstock and patterned paper. I honestly am not sure but this might have been later. But I love it! I do see that I had my Cricut then so that definitely means it was later. The title was cut on the cricut.

I still like this layout too. This is my son with jaundice on his bilibed. In case you were wondering why the pictures looking a little funky. I used transparencies all the time for my journaling. I haven't used one in a while. Maybe I should try one again.

Here is some of my cheap paper! LOL I distressed each strip with brown distressing ink. The coloring looks bad in this pic. I hope its better in the album.

Heaven Sent

This is supposed to be a two page layout but of course they don't look like that. Each is covered with a 12x12 piece of vellum. Um I don't know what that yellow flower thing is in the picture. Thats not on the layout. Anyway I stole the idea of cutting out a piece of vellum from a layout displayed in the Doodlebug. Oh yes and the oval pictures. I had just recently purchased a Fiskars shape cutter. Yea, you will see more funky shapes soon.

Sweet Baby

AWW!! Look at my sweet baby. I still like this layout. I love the "be'be'" rub-on and the collage on the second page. One thing I have noticed while doing this is that I didn't get the idea that a 2-page layout should be viewed as one big page. I'm much better at that now. Then not so much!

Technically cardstock only

I'm not really sure what order to post my pages. I can't remember the order in which I made them. This is the next layout in the album. Yes it is technically cardstock only. Apparently I wasn't done yet. Goodness I didn't realize how long that phase lasted!

Cardstock is gone!

Yea! The cardstock only is gone! I also used a large picture. I'm growing in my scrapbooking!

Monotone Cardstock Again

Another cardstock only monotone again. I think I scraplifted this one. I'm very glad the light reflected and covered my picture because I looked awful. I said I didn't want my picture taken but no one listened. After 24 hours of labor and swollen with pre-eclampsia, no one looks good!

More Cardstock

Look more cardstock only! I told you it was a phase. Honestly though I like it still! Course that is an awfully handsome baby boy!

The Cardstock Phase: Black and Red

So I went through this phase of using only solid cardstock. I'm not really sure why. I'll post some more to show that the phase went through a few more layouts.

Stars from Heaven

I like this layout. The theme is stars as Michael was my star. AHHH! I also used the card from his basinett in this layout. This is high quality paper that I purchased from the Doodlebug. I actually found the scraps from this layout while cleaning the other day. Maybe I will make something else from this paper.

Beginner Scrapbooker

I quickly fell in love with scrapbooking. I scrapped every spare minute I had. Sometimes that meant I used pictures that were just "so so." Sometimes I didn't make the best designs. I also bought cheap products to start my stash. I purchased paper at discount stores. I bought several "stacks" at Joanns. I did make some good layouts during that time too!

This is a layout of my son's birth stats. I tried copying a layout I found. It didn't turn out quite right. I've never redone this layout. Today's project? I really doubt it! LOL
